What's New:The 2012 Impreza is all-new, from its stylish exterior and more spacious interior with a host of high-value convenience features, to its remarkably fuel-efficient drivetrain and state-of-the-art safety engineering.
A new 2.0 liter DOHC Boxer 4, combined with a lighter weight body and other efficiency enhancements, including the addition of the LIneartronic CVT, has resulted in an impressive 36 mpg EPA highway rating.
Model line changes include:
-Impreza 2.0i is available in three trim levels - entry level 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, and 2.0i Limited, in a 4-Door or 5-Door body style.
-New, active-lifestyle Impreza Sport models are available as Impreza 2.0i Sport Premium and Impreza 2.0i Sport Limited, both exclusively in the 5-Door body style.
What's New - Performance
148 horsepower @6200 rpm and 145 lb-of torque @4200 rpm.
Chain-driven dual overhead camshafts with Dual Active Valve Control (DAVCS) to optimize power, efficiency, and emissions.
Direct ignition for more precise control of the combustion process.
Engine oil level indicator for added convenience.
The available second-generation Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission), is lighter and provides smoother overall performance. Combined with the vehicle's lighter weight and aerodynamic body design, it enables the new Impreza 2.0i to achieve much higher EPA fuel economy numbers - up to 30% higher:
-27/36 mpg city/highway with CVT
-25/34 mpg city/highway with 5-speed manual transmission
In fact, the 2012 Impreza is the most fuel-efficient All-Wheel Drive passenger car in America!
The revised, independent suspension features:
-MacPherson struts in front and a double-wishbone design inthe rear to deliver both responsive handling and a comfortable ride.
-A front stabilizer bar is fitted to all models to enhance stability in curves. A rear stabalizer bar and rebound spring in the front struts are fitted to Premium & Limited models.

15-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers are fitted to Impreza 2.0i models.
16-inch silver-finish alloy wheels are on Impreza 2.0i Premium (17-inch silver-finish alloy wheels are available as part of the Alloy Wheel Package).
17-inch silver-finish alloy wheels are standard on Impreza 2.0i Limited.
17-inch gunmetal gray alloy wheels are fitted to all 2.0i Sport Premium and 2.0i Sport Limited models.
What's New - Interior
1-inch longer wheelbase for greater interior room.
The base of the A-pillars was moved 7.9 inches forward making the passenger compartment seem even more spacious.
Both the trunk (4-Door) and the cargo area (5-Door) are larger:
-12.0 cu. ft. maximum trunk space
-22.4 cu. ft. cargo space behind the rear seat; 52.4 with the rear seat folded.
New soft-touch materials are used throughout the passenger compartment.
New convenience features are standard on all models:
-Tilt/telescopic steering column
-Auto-up and auto down driver's window with pinch protection
-Windshield-washer low-fluid warning light
-Enhanced multifunction display with current/average mpg, distance to empty, average speed, journey time, clock and ambient temp gauge.

On 2.0i models - AM/FM stereo with single CD player and 4 speakers.
On 2.0i Premium and 2.0i Sport Premium - AM/FM stereo with single CD player and 6 speakers, Bluetooth capability, i-Pod connectivity (USB and auxiliary input in center console) plus steering wheel-mounted controls.
